Fruity Birds is a modern men's magazine. I've tried a few times before. This is, by my count, about the fourth iteration of the idea. If you include just some ideas jotted down on some random paper. Which I think I will.

The inspiration is not just men's magazines. That's probably the smallest portion of its DNA. I derive most of my inspiration from Boingboing, Fruits (magazine), Whole Earth Catalog, Popeye (magazine), and Cometbus.

This blog will feature long form reads as well as quick posts around masculinity.

My name is Philip Heartland. Not my real name but it suits me. airly new as of this writing July 2026, but I've never felt comfortable with publishing under my own name though I tried.
